Mammoth ivory is the fossil of mammoth tusk, which is harvested from mammoth remains preserved in Siberian permafrost. It is used as a substitute for elephant ivory. The fossil ivory has nearly the same texture and appearance as elephant ivory, except the angle difference of Schreger lines.
Cross sections of elephant (left) and mammoth tusks (right) with outer Schreger lines marked, showing characteristic angle difference.
We use high-quality Siberian mammoth ivory. The material is trusted by professional craftsmen for its magnificent natural finish.
The mammoth ivory we use is from the icy wildness of northern Siberia. Our mammoth ivory is obtained in an ethical manner.
Beautiful patterns of mammoth ivory are fully distributed on the body of the beast sculpture.
This sculpture work is made by Multi-dimensional Circular Carving, which demands extremely high skills and patience of the artist.
When you look at the sculpture from different angles, you will have different visual feelings.
The sculpture is made of the best part of a top-class mammoth ivory material with a superb craftsmanship.
It is finished with dedicated hand polishing to display the natural beautiful of the stone. No waxing. No oil dyeing. No coating.
The details are amazing.
Facial expressions, muscles, claws and even the teeth and lips are all lifelike and carefully made.
The included dock is tailor-made for this sculpture.
Outstanding design. Minimalistic style.
Made of Indian red sandalwood/Zitan with supreme quality.
Red sandalwood has historically been valued in China, particularly during the Qing Dynasty periods, and is referred to in Chinese as 'Zitan' (紫檀) and spelt tzu-t'an by earlier western authors when they introduced classical Chinese hardwood furniture to the west.
An exquisite chair made of red sandalwood can be seen today in China's Forbidden City in Beijing, inside the Hall of Supreme Harmony, and once used by the emperors of the Qing Dynasty.
Due to its slow growth and rarity, things made of 'Zitan' is rare and expensive. It has been one of the most prized woods for millennia.
The red sandalwood used for this dock is from an antique Japanese musical instrument shamisen. The material has extremely high quality.
The condition of the dock is perfect. There is no cracking nor mending on the wood.
The dock is made of the whole piece of red sandalwood/Zitan. No gluing. No piecing together. There is neither lacquer nor wax on this red sandalwood dock. The shimmer of the box is purely from polishing.
The design of the dock is unique and extraordinary. The proportion between lines and surfaces are unexceptionable.
The dock fits the sculpture perfectly.
The whole set is not big but can provide you so much pleasure whenever you look at it and play around with it in your hand.
Seeing and feeling this piece of artwork in reality is much more astonishing.
Made for the right collector or the person who truly falls in love with it.
We only make special things that can last.
